Cons
Weak electrical connection
The electrical connection of this projector bulb is weak when the engine is running.
Tester says about this Product
“These lights are direct plug-in with no modifications to the stock housing and have clearance between the fans and the radiator core support when installed on a 2011 Silverado.
You do have to adjust the beam down quite a bit to prevent blinding oncoming vehicles, it takes 2 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver so don’t be a douche.
Pull up to a wall 15’ to 20’ away after dark and turn the adjustment screw on your housing down so the beam is about level with or below your hood on larger trucks.” By Trevor
Cougar Motor LED Headlight Bulbs All-in-One Conversion Kit
Best for its Excellent Technology
There is a set of LED headlight bulbs by Cougar Motor. This company has been making the roads safe since 2006 and its headlights are designed to keep automotive technology on the cutting edge.
As time goes on, new features are continuously worked into each of the products they make. LED lights are super bright! That’s because each light features an efficient CREE LED chip, meaning up to 120 watts of power.
At 6000 Kelvin, the light will feel super comfortable when driving at night. They also designed the lights in a way that they don’t show any glare whatsoever while you’re driving.
In the great hunt for brightness, some light manufacturers go to extremes that do not result in better illumination for customers.
Fortunately, Cougar Motor has found a balance between brightness and viewing angle so that everyone can have a good look at their otherwise dazzling lights!
These LEDs have unique 7,000 RPM spinning turbofans so they don’t get too hot while still being able to project a clear beam of bright light.

Tester says about this Product
“Installed in a 2016 Subaru Legacy Limited as low beams. The installation was very easy, just plug and play. I just had to watch where I placed the excess connecting cables. No issues so far, as simple as a standard replacement bulb.
A note for Legacy (and probably Outback) owners: Your Subaru’s low beams seem to be 100% compatible, go for it! Do not use these (I didn’t order because of this) for your bright lights.
In Subaru’s, your brights / high beams are also your daytime running lamps (DRL) but running at a lower voltage to knock down the output. LEDs (not just Cougar) are on or off, not in-between.
The LEDs would be running at full power for your DRLs if you install them. Just a heads up, your local laws may differ, but this would also shorten the life too. I will look for some daylight temp standard high beam bulbs to complete the daylight temp of all lights.
Another note is that these are so nicely white, that your edge trim LED around the headlamps will now look a bit yellow, but not much, it’s still MUCH better with these. I love them so far. By KWACOLO
Aukee H1 LED Headlight Bulb

CSP LED chips are used in producing each bulb in order to create a high-performance solution for anyone who needs to improve their visual experience in any area whether it’s for exterior or interior lighting.
Because of their big eyes, dogs tend to have good vision in the dark. A lot of people aren’t aware of it, but the beaming sun sometimes hurts dogs’ eyes, even if they are dogs with blue-colored eyes.

Tester says about this Product
“Installed the H11 XtremeVision bulbs on my wife’s 2011 Highlander Hybrid Limited replacing the OEM main headlight bulbs. Work very well and I don’t know if it’s because these were H11s (with only one way ’round) though they did not need alignment adjustments.
Light is much brighter and lights up further down the road without dazzling oncoming vehicles. Light is whiter than OEM bulb, with no blue tinge noticeable.
Pic attached shows a comparison of an old bulb and one of these. I’m sure you can determine which is which 🙂
Hope this helps,
Cheers, Mike”

Buyer Guide of Best Bulb for Projector Headlights

When buying or upgrading your headlights make sure you do it by looking for quality and not only price.

Type of Bulb
Choosing a projector bulb is very important to get the best results. Often projector bulbs don’t come in a standard format, which creates a problem when trying to install them into a new set of headlights.
Also, some projector headlights have limited functions that don’t always work successfully with different types of bulbs.
Installation
When it comes to changing the bulbs installed in your vehicle, there are certain things you should look out for. One of them is an easy installation process that will help you install the bulbs quickly and efficiently.
If your bulb doesn’t come with a simple installation process, then your projector is most likely not going to work correctly once it’s installed in position. So opt for something that won’t cause any trouble when trying to secure it in place!
Light Output
Ultimately, if you want to get the most out of your projector bulb it is important to find one that offers at least 5,000 lumens. It is also recommended that you choose a bulb that gives off a cooler light because projector headlights are known to produce higher outputs when they’re blue.
FAQs Related to the Topic
What kind of bulb goes in a projector headlight?
As I mentioned earlier, projector headlights use halogen lights for projector lamps and it’s vital to choose the right kind to get a good picture when showing your presentation or movie on the screen. If you choose a bulb that is too bright then it will wash out the actors’ faces and if you choose one that is too low, then you won’t be able to see what’s going on properly.
Can I use HID bulbs in projector headlights?
Reflector headlights were indeed designed with limited light output in mind, and they may not be able to handle the intense glare from Xenon HID lights. So this means that more power is needed when operating your vehicle and that can translate into increased fuel consumption and shortening each of your trips.
Do projector headlights use regular bulbs?
To get the best view from your projector, you need to choose a bulb that produces high lumens. 5000+ lumens is enough brightness for a good picture to be displayed on the screen and anything less than that will give you a poor quality picture while anything above that can cause problems with heat and other functions in the projector. The next thing to look out for when shopping for a replacement bulb is to make sure it has a cold output because projector headlights need blue-tinted lights to project an image.
Which are brighter HID or LED?
An HID headlight uses an arc to produce light. The arc is powered by ballast and two capacitors to produce the necessary energy that is then released into the bulb. To do this, the ballast must be connected directly to your vehicle’s electrical system and must follow specific safety regulations and protocols to be safe and reliable.
Is projector and hid the same?
In comparison to reflector headlights, Xenon HID headlight bulbs give more light on the road. The difference is that while a single bulb can supply more light in a projector of one car, it will require two or even three bulbs of the same brightness as a car with HID headlights to get similar brightness. It is of course always more expensive to replace a bulb only once every few years instead of every year, but I’m sure it’s worth paying more for extra safety and luminous efficiency!
Which is better 35W or 55W HID?
As I mentioned earlier, a projector uses a halogen bulb to project a clear image over a large screen from up on higher ground. Today it is important to choose the correct bulbs that will fit your projector in terms of brightness. If the brightness is too low, then it will not provide a clear picture, and vice versa.
Can I replace the projector lamp with an LED?
While replacing an HID, UHP, or halogen projector lamp bulb with LEDs may seem like it would be the perfect option to save energy and improve clarity, this isn’t always the case because nowadays many projector lamp bulbs contain built-in transformers which convert the power supply to the correct voltage. But if one were to use a regular household LED for their projector, then they will run into issues of insufficient brightness or getting color distortion. Fortunately, some newer LED models allow you better brightness control over your image – just not with all projectors.
