Tester says about this Product
“Wow, I don’t think there is anything I can complain about here. TM80, btw. I’ve been looking for some good tower speakers for my home. For streaming music and for my tv. Bass is important and also good quality highs without distortion.
So far, these totally deliver. The music is crisp, clear, and the bass is off the charts. It can be adjusted so bad reviews over the subs being too powerful seems ridiculous to me.
These sound awesome. They look nice and appear to be well made also. That’s hard to find these days. As long as they hold up I’m giving them 5 stars all the way!!
**UPDATE 1-2-20** Still using these two years later and still very happy with them. They sound great!” By Shaye
Klipsch RP-280F Floorstanding Speaker
Best for its Easy Maintenance
The reference premiere RP-280F is the chief in the Klipsch Reference Premiere series. It features hybrid tractrix horn-loaded technology and 2 eight-inch cerametallic woofers which deliver powerful and precise bass.
The theatre quality sound produced by these speakers is ideal for both home cinema as well as home theatre systems and offers a cinema experience like no other.
These are directly an upgrade of the R-28F floor-standing speaker. With the introduction of the new Reference Premiere, it’s evident KP is striving immensely with its previous version for better sound performance, both on low and high frequencies along with the excellent balance between them.
The RP-280F is an addition to the company’s famous Klipsch Heritage series speakers. The classic R-28F has similar features like its injection-molded graphite woofers, aluminum LTS tweeters, and front-firing bass reflex ports, though it is finished in copper rather than polished nickel.
Where each model differs is in the design of the grille and tweeter detail (diamonds vs. circles), as well as the sides being black rather than all silver.
Features
- Cerametallic woofers
- Hybrid Tractrix Horn
- Tractrix Port
- Strong Removable Grille
- Cinematic sound
Pros
Immersive experience
The RP-280F floor standing speaker is the largest in the Reference Premiere family, and it produces a big sound.
Two 8-Inch Cerametallic woofers and a Hybrid Tractrix Horn work together to create an immersive experience.
Easy cleaning
The new Tractrix port has been designed to be stronger and more flexible than ever before. The grille is also removable for easy cleaning.
Less treble response
The Klipsch Dolby Atmos elevation channel speaker is the perfect addition to your home theater, delivering overhead sound that will take your movie-watching experience to the next level.
Affordable
This product is quite affordable and budget-friendly.
Cons
Weak plugs
The plugs that we use to connect the speakers to the power supply are weak.
Tester says about this Product
“Absolutely incredible sound. I replaced my current front towers (Klipsch RF-42 II) with these and the difference is beyond anything I could have hoped for. I knew the 8” woofers would support a lot more bass, but I had no idea how much I had been missing on my old setup.
I have these bi-amped through my Pioneer Elite receiver and they have an excellent clean sound. I was always a little put off with the brightness of the old RF series tweeters, but the new Tractrix horn in the RP series is made from a stiff rubber and really smooths out the harshness.
I had planned to just replace my front towers, but as soon as I set these up I knew I had to upgrade the center channel as well. Paired with the RP-450C center channel, movies in 5.1+ surround are stunning. My fiancé actually said, “it’s like being at the movies”.
The finish on the cabinets is good, but these aren’t pieces of art. The copper-colored woofers look good with the magnetic grilles removed. The towers are very large and made a noticeable impact on the perceived space in my living room. Be prepared to shuffle some furniture if necessary. Overall I couldn’t be happier and I’ll continue to be a loyal Klipsch fan for years to come! By Evan
Polk Audio Signature Series S55 Floor Standing Speaker
Best for its High Bass Response
To continue, we bring your attention to Polk’s S55 floor speaker. This speaker weighs in at 44 lbs out of the box and matches most any interior no matter the color scheme or design.
It has 2 large 6.5″ woofers on top of each other with a midrange sitting in between. This unit boasts sophisticated black coloring which can fit into almost any environment while also boasting Polk’s strong build quality and wonderful sound quality that is sure to impress even the most critical audiophiles.
Check out what customers have been saying about this impressive speaker. When it comes to buying your home theater system or any kind of stereo system, make sure the speakers are a good fit for the room in which you’ll be using them.
If you plan to practice yoga or do some intense stretching for your sport, then make sure to choose this speaker that is tall enough so that they don’t fall over from their higher density mass.
For example, taller speakers might not work well on carpeting as opposed to wood flooring where a denser bass sound can be felt more readily. The dome tweeter provides a high definition for the vocals and produces some of the finest highs.
It produces sound upon hitting a low frequency that the bass is going to be able to pick up making it an excellent fit for home theaters.
Additionally, these speakers are capable of handling peak power for every single channel whilst also having a frequency range from 20 Hz or lower all the way up to 35,000 Hz.
Overall, these speakers give a very authentic experience without losing any detail across their entire soundstage.
Features
- 6.5” Drivers
- Bi-Wire & Bi-Amp
- Detachable Magnetic Grille
- 8-ohm impedance
- 88 dB sensitivity
Pros

High rating
The Signature Series has earned the hi-res certified rating and redefined the REAL AMERICAN HiFi SOUND.
Cons
Less power
This speaker is less powerful.
Tester says about this Product
“I used to own a HiFi business so I am very familiar with quality sound. That said I picked up these speakers for use in a loft and did not want to go back to the pre-2008 money pit sound system but wanted decent sound when driven by a receiver (Not separates, source, DAC, Preamp, Amp).
These deliver at a ridiculously low price and I would not want more bass. The low end is natural and has authority but does not overload the room and cloud of the midrange.” By Amazon Customer
BIC America RTR-EV15
Best for its High Power
The BIC America RTR-EV15 is an incredible three-way speaker, with dimensions of 43” high x 17.5” wide x 12.5” deep and weighing 66 pounds which makes it incredibly portable.

The added efficiency of high output levels for this speaker results in more consistent dispersion and better impedance, helping it to achieve remarkable bass.
This speaker does not have a single tweeter – instead, it has two separate tweeters, placed behind each other and facing outwards.
This means that the sound can be produced across a wider spread without losing any of its clarity or quality.
The company offers a five-year warranty that covers both the labor and parts at no extra cost, ensuring that customers are adequately compensated if the product experiences any issues down the line.

“If your sick and tired of being run over by 45% distortion from the goon’s next door playing all that nonsense and you want to deal out some full hard rock/heavy metal justice then this is the speaker set up for you.
Clear and clean with 165 watt Denon and I cannot imagine what these monsters would do with more power, Fasten your seat belt and close the window’s [and that won’t matter]THE HAMMER OF THE GOD’S WITH EVEN TWO OF THESE.
I have also added the Eviction series sub-woofer and if severe and punishing sound pressure level’s are what you are looking for then you have found the right product.
BE WARNED-YOUR NEIGHBOR’S WILL KNOW YOU BOUGHT THE TRUE SPEAKER’S FOR HEAVY ROCK AND METAL, FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS, YOUR ABOUT TO BE BLOWN AWAY \\mm//…

Tester says about this Product
“I purchased these beasts last year only had them for 8 months and 1 of the speakers started to rattle inside the cabinet. I contacted Fluance Customer service about the issue and was instructed to remove the speakers to see if anything was loose and I could not find anything and it still rattled.
Call Customer service again and was told I would have to send it to them for repair/ replacement. Spent over $100 in packaging materials since I threw the boxes out after having the speakers for 3 months.
I took the packaged speaker to be sent and was met with a ridiculous amount to send it back ($998) at that point i was very annoyed cause I didn’t have that amount of money to send it back to Fluance.
I took the box that weight was 90 pounds back home and called Fluance again to let them know how much it would cost me to send it. I spoke to 2 ladies from Fluance (Dawn and Julie) they were so helpful and sent a prepaid label so that I could send them the speaker.
I must say Fluance Customer service experience is absolutely awesome. I absolutely love these speakers. Sound quality is amazing and they can take much power. So my review for fluance is outstanding!!. Thank you Dawn and Julie at Fluance!!.” By Geovanni

Tester says about this Product
“Using with a Rotel RSX 1056 utilizing the analog input for a music hall cd player and a Pro-Ject record master turntable with Ortofon 10 styli for two-channel stereo. Mostly this is used for records.
Right out of the box they sounded flat but warmed up after about 15 minutes. Over the next several hours the sound evened out nicely and the detail and imaging improved Only have about 10 hours on them but I am already in love with them.
I have read that CVs are only good for volume, the bass is boomy, yadda yadda yadda. I have also read they have no detail and the high end is not good. I am not experiencing any of this.
Bass was boomy when too close to the wall but a few inches and that was no longer an issue. The high end is fine and the detail is clear.
They sound amazing. Certainly, they are large but that was quite what I was aiming for. As a wise man said in a previous post, there is no replacement for displacement:)” By W. L. Lynch

“I love these speakers and there’s not much bad to say. However, I want to address folks who are downrating them for having “fake speakers.”
A lot of speakers have what is called passive radiators which are a nonelectrified/unwired way of increasing the bass output.
The product clearly says that two of the speakers are passive radiators so please do not penalize the product due to your own lack of knowledge.” By mind bullet

Tester says about this Product
“Let me be short and sweet. I currently own the veritable Adcom GFA-5802 amp, GFP-750 pre-amp, Sony’s new HAP-1Zes music streamer, Teac TN-400 turntable, all of it feeding Thiel CS2.3 speakers, and an SVS sub.
I’ve owned Definitive Technology speakers, NAD, and Rotel. I’m trying to put together a college graduation gift for my music-loving son and wanted the best I could buy for around $2k for everything.
I was more than skeptical about these Sony SSCS3 speakers and actually have a pair of Definitive Technology M65 speakers on the way now. Those won’t be opened. They’re going back. These Sony towers are simply astonishing at $159 each.
Run, don’t walk. I promise you’ll not be able to buy these at this price 3 years from now. I’m playing them next to my Thiels and I’m actually a little annoyed they’re that good.” By Michael J

Sound Quality
Whether you want to use speakers for the main sound source or simply hook them up on your laptop you should definitely think about the quality of sound they produce.
At 50Hz, most people will hear a solid bass frequency just fine as it’s one of the most targeted range frequencies in most music genres.
It might take a bit more research to find affordable yet high-quality options but in the end, it will be worth it.

FAQs Related to the Topic
Do vintage speakers sound better?
Two reasons why vintage speakers sound better are because those devices are less efficient than modern speakers and also, people have different preferences when it comes to sound.
Some people choose background music that has a warm, classic sound with their old-fashioned boomboxes or turntables, but some others may prefer a clearer sound coming out of modern speakers in ballrooms, stadiums, or auditoriums.
Why are vintage speakers so expensive?
Vintage audio equipment is expensive partly because it’s an older model with a lot of history behind it and partly because these models tend to be made better than the newer models.
A vintage piece of gear must work well and last for a long time to be worth that kind of price.
What are audiophile speakers?
An audiophile is someone who is as enthusiastic about getting high-quality sound in their lives as you are when it comes to your real estate business.
There’s no denying that there are certain components of your business (such as digital-to-analog converters) that are absolutely necessary for you to be successful and make money.
Other areas (such as power conditioners) may not necessarily seem so fundamental, but they can have a huge effect on the way the final product sounds and feels.
How many watts is a good speaker?
When choosing a speaker, you will generally have a choice to make between Wattage (usually written as “watts” or “W”) and Diameter. A megaphone should use at least 15 watts of energy. Most homeowners want 20 watts in order to make their voice reach the largest group of people. For larger groups, 50 watts or 100 watts is better.
Does wattage affect sound quality?
Yes, it’s true that the more powerful the wattage is, the louder and cleaner the playing sound can be. Small differences in power however don’t make much of a difference. In order to critically hear an audible change (3 decibels), then the power would have to double.
